PROCEDURAL CHANGES DUE TO COVID-19
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Assembly adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 2020-12 on March 19, 2020. This ordinance authorizes the Presiding Officer to modify and/or waive provisions pertaining to scheduling, public participation, teleconference, and other related provisions of code related to public meetings and the governing body to include the Board of Equalization.
To comply with Governor Dunleavy's mandates, Board of Equalization meetings will be conducted using Zoom. Citizens can listen via Zoom by clicking on the link or dialing the toll free number. This information will be routinely updated to reflect any upcoming meetings.

Assessment notices are mailed every year by the end of January. Please visit
the Assessing Department with any concerns regarding your valuation. Appeals to
the Board of Equalization must be filed with the Borough Assessor no later than
30 days from the mailing date of your assessment notice. Meetings are held
during the months of April and May.
The Assessing Department is located in
the Juanita Helms Administration Center at 907 Terminal Street, Fairbanks,
Alaska. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., excluding
