PROCEDURAL CHANGES DUE TO COVID-19

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Assembly adopted Emergency Ordinance No. 2020-12 on March 19, 2020. This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to modify and/or waive provisions pertaining to scheduling, public participation, teleconference, and other related provisions of code related to public meetings and the governing body to include the Economic Development Commission.

Effective March 28, 2020, Governor Dunleavy issued Health Mandate 11, which states that all persons in Alaska, except those engaged in essential health care services, public government services, and essential business activities are mandated to remain at their place of residence. Further, the Juanita Helms Administration Center (JHAC), including the Mona Lisa Drexler Assembly Chambers, are closed to the public at this time. This mandate will be reevaluated on April 11, 2020.

To comply with Governor Dunleavy's mandates, Economic Development Commission meetings will be conducted using Zoom. The following procedures are in place to allow citizens to continue listening to meeting, to participate in meetings by submitting written comments, and to testify telephonically. Thank you for your diligence in complying with these mandates.
